Kidney stones

Specialist assessment and minimally invasive treatment for stones in the kidney or urinary tract.

Understanding the condition

Kidney stones are hard deposits that form from substances in the urine. Some pass without intervention; others cause obstruction, infection or severe pain and need specialist treatment. The right approach depends on the stone’s size, position, composition and effect on kidney drainage.

When to seek urgent help

Do not wait when symptoms are severe.

Seek urgent medical care for stone symptoms with fever or chills, uncontrolled pain, persistent vomiting, reduced urine output, or feeling severely unwell.
